Editorial standards
The Change Champions is an independent, US-based educational website about perimenopause. We explain what research and major US health organizations say, in plain English, so you can understand your body and prepare for conversations with your own doctor. We are not a medical practice, and nothing on this site is medical advice.
Who writes our articles
Articles are written and published by The Change Champions team. We are not clinicians, and our articles are not individually reviewed by a doctor or other licensed health professional. We say this plainly because you deserve to know who is behind the information you read.
Each article shows the byline "The Change Champions team" and the date it was last updated.
Where our information comes from
We rely on reputable, publicly available US sources, and every article lists the sources it drew on. These include:
- The Menopause Society (menopause.org), including its position statements
- The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)
- The Office on Women's Health (womenshealth.gov) and the National Institutes of Health, including the National Institute on Aging, the Office of Dietary Supplements, NCCIH and MedlinePlus
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- Professional societies such as the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Cancer Society
- Peer-reviewed research, including the long-running Study of Women's Health Across the Nation (SWAN)
We don't use sponsored content, and we don't accept payment to cover or recommend any product, supplement or treatment.
How we check facts
Before an article is published, every factual claim (numbers, dates, FDA approvals and warnings, and what organizations recommend) is checked against current sources. Claims we can't verify are removed or reworded. We describe what the evidence shows, including where it is limited or mixed.
We never give doses, diagnoses or personal treatment plans, and we don't invent statistics, quotes, reviews or testimonials. Every article names warning signs that need prompt medical attention, and tells you to call 911 in an emergency or call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) in a mental-health crisis.
How our site is organized
Our guides follow the questions people tend to ask in order: the basics of perimenopause, the symptoms, mind and sleep, body and periods, treatment options, and lifestyle and self-advocacy. Each article answers one main question and links to related articles rather than repeating them. The symptom dictionary describes 40 symptoms in plain English and links to the articles that explain them.
Updates and corrections
Medical guidance changes. We review articles when guidelines, FDA labeling or major research change, and the "Updated" date on each article shows when it was last revised.
If you spot an error or something out of date, please email hello@thechangechampions.com. We aim to correct confirmed errors promptly.
Our own products
We offer a free 7-Day Reset Starter Kit and a paid Complete Perimenopause Toolkit. These are clearly labeled and kept separate from our articles. Articles don't promote our products or anyone else's.
Using this information
Our articles are general information for adults in the United States. They can't take your personal history into account. Please talk to your own doctor before making decisions about your health, and read our full disclaimer.
